V. Raghuraman is a Post Graduate in Chemical Engineering. He is currently Principal Adviser with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and possesses over 34 years of experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining CII, he was Secretary General of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Deputy Director General of the National Productivity Council. His areas of specialization include energy management, energy conservation, industrial engineering and climate change. He was Chairman of the World Energy Efficiency Association, Washington DC. He is a Director of the Orissa Sponge Iron Limited. He has helped build effective platforms for Indian business to interact with government on liberalization, globalization, WTO issues and project policy guidelines.
