Stephane de la Rue du Can is a senior research associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the International Energy Studies Group. Prior to that, she worked at the International Energy Agency in Paris, developing detailed energy statistics for developing countries. She received a DEA (equivalent to a Masters) in Economics from the University Paris Dauphine in 1998.
Stephane has worked on several topics such as energy and CO2 emissions accounting methodologies, energy savings opportunities in the industrial sector, state and local climate change initiatives. She used her experience at the IEA to develop an energy balance for the state of California and to calculate the resulting CO2 emissions. Currently, she is working on a historical decomposition of energy use in California as well as a project for the IPCC disaggregating global energy use forecasts into end-use scenarios for different regions of the world.
