
Dr. Phillip Price has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Kentucky, and has worked in the Indoor Environment Department since 1992. In the early 1990s he became one of the foremost authorities on the spatial and statistical distribution of indoor radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas. He then joined the Airflow and Pollutant Transport Group, where he co-developed state-of-the-art algorithms for mapping airborne pollutant concentrations using optical remote sensing data. His current research involves quantifying uncertainties in predictions of indoor pollutant transport, and designing experiments to reduce uncertainties as effectively as possible. He also leads the group's award-winning efforts to determine how building managers and operators can reduce risks from airborne chemical or biological weapons.
