Lixuan Hong received her Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Planning in the School of Science and Engineering in Aalborg University in Denmark. She has great research interests in energy system modeling and analysis, renewable energy and Geographical Information System (GIS) modeling. She believes that policy and scenario analyses built on technical-economic energy models are of great importance for decision-makers to make rational energy plans and strategies. Moreover, models and tools could provide useful communication platforms between different stakeholders and the public. Her recent research has focused on the evaluation of China’s low-carbon cities, China’s long-term pathway towards a future sustainable energy system and Chinese energy statistics
