
Ching-Shin "Norman" Shiau is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He is also a research member in the NSF MUSES project and Carnegie Mellon Green Design Institute. His general research interests include engineering design optimization, market system modeling, and environmental policy. The specific topics in his research focus are economic and environmental implications of plug-in hybrid technology, influence of transportation policy on vehicle design, and product design for market systems. He received his Ph.D. in May 2010 from Carnegie Mellon, M.S. from National Taiwan University, and B.A. from National Chung Hsing University. Prior to his post-graduate study at Carnegie Mellon, he was a R&D engineer and technical project leader at BenQ Corporation in Taiwan.
