
Andrew J. Satchwell is a Scientific Engineering Associate in the Electricity Markets and Policy Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Andy conducts research and analysis on Demand Response & Smart Grid, Energy Efficiency, and Regional Electric System Planning, including Smart Grid Investment Grant (SGIG) Dynamic Pricing Projects, Design and Evaluation of Demand Response Programs, Energy Services Company (ESCO) Industry and Market Trends, Technical Assistance to States on Energy Efficiency Programs, and Incorporating Demand-Side Resources into Regional Transmission Planning.
Andy has published a peer-review journal article and several conference papers and reports. He is also a member of the American Economic Association and a reviewer for The Energy Journal, Energy: The International Journal, and Utilities Policy.
Previously, Andy worked with the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, where he served as an expert economics and policy witness on behalf of ratepayers. He also served as co-chair of the Resource Adequacy Working Group of the Organization of Midwest ISO States (OMS).
Andy has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.A. in West European Studies from Indiana University.
