
Dr. Kirchstetter is a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he is a Deputy Leader in the Sustainable Energy Systems Group and a member of the Heat Island Group. He studies the role of particulate matter in the environment as it relates to energy use, climate, and air quality. He has more than 50 refereed archival journal papers and holds a concurrent appointment at the University of California, Berkeley as an Associate Adjunct Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
