Shao-Ling joined LBNL in 2010 as a postdoc under the supervision of Dr. Venkat Srinivasan. Her work focuses on mathematical modeling and experiment on porous electrode and investigating system limitations in cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. The work was funded by Department of Energy's Batteries for Advanced Transportation Technology (BATT) Program in developing high-performance, rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles.

Before she joined the Lab, Shao-Ling was a PhD student at the University of Florida in chemical engineer under the guidance of Professor Mark Orazem. Her dissertation focused on developing models which account for the influence of nonuniform current and potential distributions on the impedance response of a disk electrode. Shao-Ling received her PhD degree in 2010.
