
Anand R. Gopal is a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate in the International Energy Studies Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has almost a decade of research experience in engineering, economics and policy related to transportation energy and renewable energy systems. Presently at LBNL, he is leading DOE's efforts on Electric Vehicle policy and infrastructure development for India. This project is an activity of the Electric Vehicle Initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial. Anand is also co-leading research into financial incentives policies and programs for energy efficiency as part of LBNL's larger effort under the Superefficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative. Anand has worked as a Research Engineer at the Schatz Energy Research Center at Humboldt State University and as a Guest Scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. He has a Ph.D. in Energy and Resources from University of California, Berkeley, an M.S. in Environmental Systems Engineering from Humboldt State University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
