The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Electrical Code (NEC) specify that electrical equipment is allowable for use in the workplace only if it has been “Listed” or “Accepted” by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). Equipment that has NOT been “Listed” or “Accepted” by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) is not acceptable unless it has satisfactorily passed a documented safety analysis. In order to meet this requirement, LBNL has established the Electrical Equipment Inspection Program (EEIP). Mark and Robert will be available to give an overview of the EEIP program and answer questions affected personnel may have regarding complying with the program requirements. If you plan on purchasing or building equipment for research projects, this is a great way to find out how to comply. Questions: Contact Ron Scholtz, EETD Safety Manager, X8137
