This talk will review the early results from an innovative public private partnership between WattzOn and the city of San Jose, CA: Green Energy Match (GEM). With city assistance, WattzOn has developed and delivered a behavior-based energy savings program in three neighborhoods. The energy savings results are strong. The talk will review the outreach methodology, the savings results, and lessons learned. The program has served three very demographically different neighborhoods, with significantly different outreach results. There is also a strong economic argument for GEM, in that saving energy increases household income and thus local spending. The data behind this argument will be presented. GEM is now being expanded city-wide and we hope that this presentation will sharpen our analysis, and prepare GEM for adoption by other cities.
