Do you develop software?  Are you having trouble understanding LBNL licensing, grant backs, and other IP issues related to your research projects?  Michael Mueller and Len Guzman from Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Management will be sharing their insights into LBNL software development licensing and distribution policies, procedures, and practices along with an overview of organizational roles and responsibilities.  Additionally, they will discuss the challenges associated with using sub-contractors, open source software, "freeware", "shareware", and third party licenses in your software development projects.
