In 2003, the NREL Director asked that we look toward the next quarter century and plan NREL's South Table Mountain campus using the principles of sustainable design so that our research campus can serve as a model for others. The webinar will cover the steps in our master planning process; progress to date in building out the campus as per the plan and tools available on our carbon neutral research campus website. We will describe our planning process including steps we took prior to hiring a master planning consultant and steps we took working with the planner. We'll focus on master planning concepts that impact energy and sustainability. We'll show images of how the master plan has evolved over the years yet continued to support the original design principles. We'll describe what we see as the key factors that led to our success. We'll show images of the most recent buildings and facilities built on our campus including the 220,000 GSF Research Support Facility (RSF) which use net zero energy for the month of July, 2011.
