This talk reviews the COMNET Modeling Guidelines and Procedures, a set of modeling rules intended to standardize the process for calculating federal tax credits, energy points under green building ratings, and Designed to Earn ENERGY STAR. The guidelines were developed in 2009 and went through two public reviews in 2010 before being published. See COMNET.org for more information. This talk will also address the zero energy performance index (zEPI) rating scale and how this scale is being used in the ASHRAE Building EQ and other programs to standardize the method for rating buildings.
