A Next Generation Light Source Facility for LBNL

I will introduce the science and technology of the Lab's Advanced Light Source synchrotron facility, and then discuss the properties of, and opportunities offered by, a Next Generation Light Source (NGLS) x-ray facility. The NGLS will provide high average and peak power coherent soft x-ray x-ray laser pulses, which will allow for chemically selective imaging with high resolution in space, time, and energy.
