Patxi Hernandez, a Spanish PhD student from Ireland, is at the Berkeley Lab for two weeks, based in the Building 90 third floor flex space. He is stopping over on his way from Ireland to the SB08 conference in Melbourne. While at the lab he will be working on a paper exploring the ways in which the embodied energy and embodied CO2 data that he has been exploring in his PhD might be added to the performance metrics in COMFEN. During his EETD seminar on 9/12/08, he will present two aspects of his work in Dublin: 1) An overview of benchmarking, monitoring & certification of building energy performance, 2) A report on the work that is the topic of his SB08 paper on life-cycle analysis of passive housing in Ireland.
