An Update on Energy Conservation Policies in India
The speakers will talk about the latest policy initiatives undertaken by the Government of India in the field of Energy Conservation Building Codes, Developing Capacity of State Energy Efficiency Organizations, Designated Consumers (large energy consumers), Standards and Labeling Program, DSM activities, ESCO initiatives, and other priority sectors identified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. The second part of the presentation will focus on specific initiatives \r\nundertaken by the USAID ECo-III project in direct collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency on the following activities:Implementation of Energy Conservation Building Code • Benchmarking, Energy Audits, and Performance Contracting initiatives in public and municipal sector • Energy Efficiency initiatives in Small and Medium Enterprises • Regional Energy Efficiency Centers • Educational Curriculum Enhancement • Policy Think Tank Establishment
