MERC signed an MOU with California Energy Commission, California Public Utilities Commission and LBNL in December 2007.  Under this MOU LBNL is providing technical assistance to Maharashtra utility companies.  Dr Deo will describe the current status of DSM activities in the state and explain its evolution in the context of energy efficiency programs in India.  Maharashtra is the first state in India to institutionalize DSM programs in utility companies with the support of a state regulatory commission. Dr. Deo will explain opportunities for expanding DSM programs to other states in India.
