(This is a repeat of our May 10 seminar.) Energy scenarios powerfully inform perceptions and expectations in the minds of investors, consumers, and policy-makers. Yet, a wide gap in understanding remains between scenario analysts and the audiences their work is designed to serve. A common framework of interpretation can explore, "What do they mean? How do I know? Does it make sense?" Results highlight an implausibly high pressure on energy supply innovations in several widely-cited scenarios while potential for efficiency improvements is often underestimated.
