The "Greening the Capitol Initiative" - LBNL's Role

On March 1, 2007, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the US House of Representatives to develop a "Green the Capitol Initiative" to provide an energy-efficient, environmentally-responsible, and healthy Capitol working environment. The request included two deadlines: a preliminary report by April 30th and final recommendations by June 30th. LBNL was contracted by the CAO to provide technical support on the development of these reports and recommendations. Drawing on expertise throughout EETD, the project team delivered a comprehensive set of energy efficiency and sustainability recommendations. Christopher Payne will discuss the LBNL project team's research activities, findings, and work still to come on this project.
