Building Energy and Environment Research in Tianjin University and Biological Particle Filtration and Removal

Speaker(s):
Date:
June 28, 2007 - 12:00pm
Location:
90-4133
Seminar Host/Point of Contact:

The presentation will include a brief overview of current research on building energy and environment in the School of Environmental Science and Technology and Building Energy Saving Center, Tianjin University. Topics include: (1) Simple Chinese Interface of EnergyPlus and Energy Simulation (2) Quick Measurement Technology of Building Energy Performance and Green Building Demo Project (3) Cleanroom Technology and Particle Filtration; (4) Thermal Comfort in Extreme Indoor Environment (5) Biomass Energy Conversion; The presentation will then focus on a study of bio-particle filtration removal technology with fibrous media and evaluation of microorganism growths on the filter media. The model prediction and experiment will be introduced to determine the bio-particle population density on the filter media in real time and to analyze the microorganism growth in air-conditioning systems. The lysozyme filter media was newly developed to remove bio-particles. For more information about this seminar, please contact: Peng Xu(510) 486-4549
