The art exhibition space is considered as one of the most challenging spaces for human perception, both visually and intellectually. In this space, with its need for maximum wall area for display use, an ongoing debate exists: what kind of light should be used (daylight and electric light) and what available lighting technology should be used to control both sources? Other concerns in the design process include how to avoid "museum fatigue", how to provide sufficient contact with the outside world, and all within the context of providing an energy efficient and comfortable space. David Behar is an artist and he is currently a PhD candidate in the faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, The Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), Israel where he is exploring new daylighting materials concepts for museum lighting, under the supervision of  Prof. Michael D. Levin and Dr. Guedi Capeluto.
