We will discuss the application of wireless sensor networks to demand response control system retrofits. We will show how a wireless control system designed to provide energy efficiency can be inexpensively augmented with sensors and software that enable a demand response capability in any building that is currently only achievable in state-of-the-art buildings. Simple interfacing between the existing control system and the wireless control system eliminates the need for protocol drivers. A web interface allows for automated demand response from a remote signal via the internet.
