How do science writers do what they do? Keay Davidson, a veteran science reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle will share his expertise. He'll tell us how he sees his mission as a professional communicator of science, what he does to cover a story, how the news-gathering process works,  how he handles controversial issues, and what scientists can do to get news about their research reported accurately and fairly in the news media. This will be an informal talk, with lots of time available for discussion and questions.
