Korean ESCO (Energy Service Company) market is struggling to find a new way of promoting its business. The market as a whole faces the problem of financing because most of the companies in this field are small or medium size. The energy savings projects also are usually too long and too risky to attract private investors. --Final goal of our research is to find a proper way of introducing private financing mechanism to current ESCO business in Korea instead of relying heavily on governmental support. To do that, we have to first show how profitable the current ESCO projects are. For the analysis, we obtained about 2000 samples of actual projects gathered by KEMCO (Korea Energy Management Cooperation), the official agent who recommend the low interest government fund. Analysis is done which is similar to that by Mr. Goldman, et al (2002) at "Market Trends in the U.S. ESCO Industry: Results from the NAESCO Database Project".
