Organizations, research labs and consulting companies develop along historical trajectories that may end up defining what work can be done and how it is accomplished. Doug Davenport of Tetra Tech EMI, a San Francisco environmental consulting company, will give a presentation describing Tetra Tech EMI\'s working style and their emphasis on quality, flexibility, and fun, based on their origins in a non-hierarchical management style. The presentation will include discussion of how they successfully: -Organize their work teams dynamically, so that they best fit project needs, -Develop new business, -Communicate. This talk is important for everybody in the division (and beyond), but especially important for technical staff as they seek ways to improve their personal and collective research environments. Please come and be inspired!
