An overview of the energy-related thin-film development work of the Advanced Laser Technologies Department will be presented. Laboratory processing capabilities will be described, including Ion-Assisted Pulsed-Laser Deposition and Sputtering systems. More than ten years of groundbreaking research in the development of High-Temperature Superconductor fabrication processes will be summarized. Finally, other past, present, and future thin-film materials development for energy applications will be discussed.
