
This talk will include a general overview on the status of Distributed Generation (DG) in California. It will include the following: 1) a brief overview of the DG industry in California, including its potential role in meeting the needs of the California market; 2) a description of what is needed to place DG equipment into operation (interconnections and permitting issues) 3) a review of the key regulatory and policy issues affecting the DG industry in California, explaining regulatory and institutional barriers as well as the impact that the energy crisis has had; and 4) a discussion of current Energy Commission activities to develop a statewide strategic plan for DG.
