Dr. Mathew's presentation will describe two aspects of energy efficiency and sustainable design, viewed from the perspective of market transformation:  1. Building Simulation: case study on the use of detailed energy simulation for evaluating advanced building systems and building integrated energy systems, using DOE-2 and a CAD-integrated, heat-balance-based energy simulation tool developed by Dr. Mathew at CMU.  2. Energy Portfolio Analysis: a ”curve-based” actuarial approach for modeling and valuing large portfolios of energy efficiency projects and tools that were developed at Enron to support this business strategy.
