Paper forms are typically used to collect data for building commissioning (Cx) projects. For large projects, the volume of forms can be overwhelming with regard to both physical management of thick 3-ring binders of paper and data management. Data management includes assessment of what parts of the Cx have been completed, missing data, deficiencies identified, etc.  The FACET software, developed by Center for Energy and Environment (CEE), uses a Microsoft Access electronic database to eliminate the paper forms and provide efficient data management.  Use of a Fujitsu pen computer allows portable operation of the complete Microsoft Win2000, Access and FACET environment in a 2.5 lb platform that is appropriate for field data collection.
