As part of the response to last summer's electricity crisis, the California Energy Commission (CEC) is updating the state's appliance efficiency regulations.  On Wednesday, February 7, the CEC is expected to approve regulations on residential air conditioners and water heaters that are more stringent than the recently adopted federal standards. In March and April the Commission will consider regulations for another 10 appliances, including commercial clothes washers, commercial air conditioners, beverage vending machines, exit signs, traffic signals, and torchiere fixtures.  In November they expect to add efficiency regulations for several more products.  This seminar will give an overview of what the CEC is doing on appliance efficiency regulations and where they expect to go.
