This timely presentation will review the complexities underlying the current electricity crisis in the state. Joe Eto and Chris Marnay of EETD will talk about the many different factors contributing to the present situation, including the reasons wholesale electricity prices are high, the structure of California's electrical system, the history of restructuring, reliability management, Stage I and Stage II emergency notices, and strategies to deal with the difficulties we are experiencing.
