Software is increasingly an important direct deliverable of our research as well as a vehicle to deliver other results (e.g. web-based data) to industry. Seth Rosen, from the Technology Transfer Department, will give a 30-minute presentation discussing the most common problems that LBNL researchers face in software development, and providing tips on how best to either avoid or resolve them. He will also explain software licensing and distribution options available for LBNL software and how Tech Transfer can help get the job done. If you are a software developer, or you supervise software development, or plan on doing so in the future, this presentation will provide you with valuable information that could save you time and effort. The presentation will be followed by a discussion period. Bring your questions for Seth to answer. Everyone involved in the development of software is encouraged to attend.
