A variety of radioactive and non-radioactive wastes currently reside in several shallow Arctic Seas.  These wastes are the result of dumping activities conducted by the former Soviet Union throughout the nuclear arms race.  Since 1993, the IAEA has been assessing present and potential future health and environmental impacts posed by the dumped wastes.  As the impact assessment is nearing completion, what has been learned and where should we go from here?
