EETD accepts postdoctoral applications from candidates of extraordinary scientific research abilities with a record of superior academic performance, demonstrated research and academic accomplishments in areas related to clean energy and the environment.  Applications are open to candidates of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

• All applicants must have received a Ph.D. (or equivalent) within three years of the start date (Fall 2014), or be expected to complete all doctoral degree requirements by the fellowship start date.
• The successful candidate will pursue research that is aligned with EETD’s mission and research areas, and will have a degree in areas such as: engineering, architecture, physical sciences, environmental design, energy resources and policy, applied mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
• Applicants must identify a potential research mentor in EETD who will write a statement of support nominating the candidate to the selection committee. See EETD departments and staff contacts on the Division's website (especially sidebar content).
• The selected candidate must make a full-time, on-site commitment to the EETD research program through the duration of the fellowship, up to two years.

Selection Criteria and Process

Candidates will be selected based on eligibility, research proposals, and statement of support from a potential research mentor in EETD. Letters of reference will be reviewed for the selected finalists. The overriding consideration of the selection committee will be the initiative and promise demonstrated by the candidate.

The decision of the selection committee will be absolute and final. If no suitable candidate is identified, no fellowship will be awarded and the call for applications will restart in the following year's award cycle.
