Advanced Web-Based Energy Analysis Tools and Energy Information - developing the next generation of web-based energy calculators, and providing on-line energy efficiency content and decision-support information to a range of audiences. Building Energy Measurement and Performance Analysis - research into energy use testing, field measurement, monitoring and verification of energy-consuming equipment and energy- saving projects in the building sector. Energy Efficiency Labels and Standards: International - The Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program (CLASP), a collaboration among LBNL, the Alliance to Save Energy, and the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), promotes the appropriate use of energy efficiency labels and standards for appliances, equipment, and lighting in developing and transitional countries. Energy Efficiency Standards: US - research into the energy and economic impacts of energy-efficiency performance standards on a wide range of energy-consuming products, including home appliances and equipment, commercial space conditioning and water heating equipment, plumbing products, distribution transformers, electric motors, and commercial and residential lighting products. Energy End-Use Forecasting - research to deliver to policy makers the latest information on current and expected future characteristics of markets for efficient products in the building sector. Government Voluntary Programs - Research on the effectiveness of programs such as government procurement, product labeling, and voluntary public/private partnerships in improving energy efficiency, preventing pollution, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Information Technology and Resource Use - this ongoing project explores the direct and indirect energy and environmental impacts of computers and other information technologies. As part of this effort, LBNL researchers have established the Network for Energy, Environment, Efficiency, and the Information Economy, a collaborative effort to build a community of researchers in this area. |
